Reasonable quality, reasonable price, Made In U.S.A.May 17, 2011
By K. Rochester I took a chance on buying this tool without much info on it. There were no reviews at the time, and not much in the way of a description either. I am happy to report that this tool met all of my expectations. First off, I was looking for a block that was on the longer side. This one measures 20" long, which is much better for a large area like the floor I was installing than the 7" block that came with another install kit I purchased at Amazon. It has a handle (as shown) that works well to keep your hand out of the way of the hammer blows while tapping the planks (the other block did not). It has a solid I beam type construction that so far has showed no signs of fatigue or distortion after the first 140 sq. ft. room of 1/2" solid bamboo I used it to install. I have 1000+ sq. ft. left to go, and I have no doubts this tool will long surpass my requirements for it. I don't know if this is considered a professional level tool or not, but it will certainly give a long service life, even being used frequently in that kind of environment. And the tool I have reports to be Made In The U.S.A.
