Good priceApr 24, 2011
By T. DeWein Good price on this product. Lowes has a simlarly priced product but doesn't stock the 200' roll, only the 50. Product seems to shrink a bit over time and isn't as tacky as others used. I haven't taken it up yet so I don't know if it leaves any sticky residue on the carpet.

It serves the purposeDec 05, 2010

I'm a sloppy painter, and laying this stuff down saved my carpets from disaster. The only downside is that it's hard to control for one person, especially edges and starting and stopping a line. Have someone help you when you put it down.

Other brands are betterAug 12, 2010
By Brandon Lloyd We use plastic film to protect the carpet under the kitchen table where our two small children eat. When Home Depot switched to this brand we started using it. It does not even compare to what they had before (I am not sure what the previous brand was). This stuff is very stretchy and doesn't stay down well. The previous brand could stay down for months at a time. This brand is coming up at the edges after a week.
Terrible ProductMar 11, 2012
By Mike Bought this today at Home Depot because Lowe's was out of the "Carpet Shield" 50' film (which worked great!). First, had a little sticker shock at the $40. Nevertheless bought it and pulled it out of the box. Turns out the adhesive is on the outside of the roll as you unroll it. This means it sticks to anything you happen to get in contact with the roll. Also, the tensile strength of the film is less than its self-adherence, so it's very easy to tear as you try to take it off the roll. The worse part, however, is that it is extremely difficult to handle coming off the roll and sticks to itself extremely easily making it useless for the square area you want to cover. Last but not least, it is coming up off the carpet, and yes the carpet is dry. I wouldn't recommend this if it came to me for free. Disappointing that this product was made in the US - I expected better quality.
Use something elseDec 31, 2011

What can I say, this product is great if you want to stick it to itself or to you. If you want to use it to protect carpet, get something else. It wasn't easy at all to unroll, and if you overlap it with another section, forget about it! I used it on low pile and berber carpet and it came up after 10 minutes. Perhaps the most frustrating product I have ever used. I used less than 1/4 of the roll, and what was left looks great in the trash can!
If you are looking for a product that is easy to use and will protect carpeting... find something else!
