This made my husband's task so much easierOct 01, 2011

This saw is absolutely the best one for the job, if you have a lot of tile to cut.
My husband is a big do-it-yourself person. He has remodeled many a bathroom, and he had one of the small saws, but he wanted something with a moving tray.
He really wanted a stand, too, to save his back. This was the best price I could find, and I looked everywhere. Anyway, Rick loves this saw. He always says the right tool makes all the difference. It sure does! He completed our kitchen backsplash in no time at all, and he was making a lot of diagonal and angled cuts. The saw was very precise. I was the hero for buying this saw.
Highly recommended by me, a wife who gets to listen to the complaining, when the tool is subpar.
I am looking for some other projects for him to do. Our bathrooms in our rental need redone!

Not for professional useMar 29, 2012
By Dan the rug man I had purchased 5 of these saws directly from QEP to be used on 3 large projects. With extensive use we had the bearings fail on 2 of 5 saws over the course of several months. It was less expensive to order new motors than to send in the bad motors for warranty service. On one of the saws we could not get the cutting table to align with the blade. When questioning their "Customer Service Manager" I was informed that it is really a great saw for a DIY installer not for a professional tile installer. I was told that I should purchase a DeWalt saw if we were going to use the saw on a daily basis. The name should be changed to Brutus tile saw leaving out the term "professional". On the upside the saw some great features. The plung cut allows for cutting a square out of the center of the tile and works well. The angle of the head works well for bevel cuts such as outside corners. The stand is easy to level and move. The saw accepts very large tile. If you are going to one or two tile jobs a year this saw is a good saw for the money. If you are going to use this saw as a professional save your money and buy the DeWalt. All the same features, costs a few hundred more but will last between 10 to 20 years of professional use. I bought the saw because I own a full service flooring store and had bought 2 other QEP saws in the past with good results. Both are still in service with the only problems being damaged water trays and worn out pumps. I will not order any more saws with the QEP label on the saw or the box. I have had a QEP account for almost 20 years.
Worth every penny!Apr 07, 2012
By t and m As builders who have traditionally hired tile subcontractors, we were looking for an affordable saw that would allow us to keep some of that business. This does the job rather well and is almost $200.00 less than those offered at "big box" retail stores and, with our amazon.com prime membership, it was here less than 24 hrs. later. This saw allows you to makes cuts almost like a carpentry compound miter saw, resulting in exceptional finished projects.

First ten inch sawJan 23, 2010
By Hollie Baptist I just bought this saw and have yet to use it. I Got it Home Depot and they have an internet special right now (ending Jan 2010)of 350.00 which is a great price for a ten inch saw of this caliber. I just hope that this saw is not on sale because of performance issues. I will update my review after I finish this job.
