Item is labeled Duo-Fast 5418, and uses staples from 3/8ths to 9/16ths inches.
I got it to replace one lost in a theft.
The device serves me well for mending garden lattice, covering cat posts with carpeting, and as a general light-duty fastener. All I wanted to know before I bought it was the duty rating of the motor--was it big enough? Was it as heavy-duty as the item I lost? Yes, it is. The refurbished unit works well, but smells distinctly of solder every time I open the case. It is very well constructed, I'd buy it again.

I'm not a professional carpet installer. I bought the Duo-Fast so I could do my house. I could get it in the tight corners, do stairs, etc..with reliability. Good tool for the price.
