Handy itemMay 11, 2009 This is my first tile saw and I cut a few 6" ceramic tiles with it so far. No problems with set-up, but the manual is very basic, so don't look to it for advice.
With regards to the cutting, it worked well, except at the very end when the tile seemed to catch on the metal mount for the blade guard. It ended up nicking the corner of the tile slightly, barely visible, but still there. Maybe it's because I can't hold the small piece (1/2" wide).
All the other stuff about water spray is true, but I like the water runoff collection system.
I'm glad I got this and think it is great value, especially for occasional DIYers.
I hope to report back whenever I get around to cutting the quartzite, which are much thicker and larger. One reason I got this model is because I can cut unlimited tile sizes, even if it means by free hand. The machines handling large tiles get too expensive otherwise.

Great saw for DIYFeb 08, 2009 I picked up this saw to cut some tile for a bathroom re-model job. Overall it does what it's told and does it very well. The water re-utilization system keeps you going without having to constantly refill the reservoir. Although the frame is built from plastic it does have an overall durable feel to it. The blade that came with the saw is high quality diamond and after about 80-90 cuts of ceramic tile so far there is no chipping and the saw is still working great. For the money it's definitely worth it for the casual DIY.
